I couldn't control myself.
As soon as I saw the hardcover edition of Neil Gaiman's Marvel 1602 on display in Fully Booked Greenhills, my knees went rubbery and I had to grab hold of the nearest bookshelf.
I've been looking for this book for ages!
And as if it was waiting for my arrival, the copy on the shelf was the only one left.
So I quickly snatched it up and went to the cashier upstairs.

What waited for me there was another surprise -- a hardcover edition of Good Omens by Gaiman and Terry Pratchett -- another book I've been trying to get hold of for a long time.
But as I lifted the thick tome, I saw just underneath it a hardbound copy of Anansi Boys, Gaiman's latest novel -- the one he went to the Philippines for to promote.
I was faced with a dilemma -- which of the three books would I be taking home?
The books weighed heavily in my arms as I cradled them while I made a consultation with my wallet.
And after much indecision -- I finally decided -- that I won't make
a choice.So I bought them all!
I am now four grand poorer, but what the heck -- at least I got my books and will get to read them too!
Now if I could only find a way to survive til the next payday...
